TWEAKS THAT ARE AMAZING
The goal of this mod series is to make each race truly unique. If a mod doesn't give a race powers and abilities no other race has, it shouldn't be called Amazing Race Tweaks! Right? I never thought the Imperial race had much to offer! Calm some low-level foes only once a day and find a few extra coins. Really? Well, I hope this mod changes all that and makes the race worth playing! The mod adds or enhances abilities and powers having to do with five categories--luck, blessing, persuasion, education and combat training.
✓ Luck of the Imperials
Skyrim should do more with luck, as it does with other games, like Fallout. So Imperials now find more than just a few extra gold for treasure. You now find 5 times extra gold in burial urns and as clutter. You also have a 50% chance of finding special treasure in chests (same as the Treasure Hunter perk for the Lockpicking skill.) In addition, you have the lucky Cheat Death ability. Once a day when your health falls below 10%, it will automatically be fully restored! (This is similar to the Avoid Death perk for the Restoration skill.)
✓ Blessing of the Eight
Imperials have shines to eight of the Divines in their city Solitude, and The Eight shine on Imperials. Praying at the altars of Akatosh, Arkay, Dibella, Julianos, Kynareth, Mara, Stendarr and Zenithar result in blessings that are twice as strong and last twice as long:
Akatosh - Magicka regenerates 20% faster for 16 hrs
Arkay - Health +50 for 16 hrs
Dibella - Speechcraft +20 for 16 hrs
Julianos - Magicka +50 for 16 hrs
Kynareth - Stamina +50 for 16 hrs
Mara - Healing spells restore 20% more for 16 hrs
Stendarr - Block 20% more for 16 hrs
Talos - No change
Zenithar - Fortify Barter +20 for 16 hrs
✓ The Art of Persuasion
All persuasion attempts now have a 30% greater chance of succeeding (same as the Persuasion perk for the Speech skill). All purchasing prices are 10% less, and all selling prices are 10% more. In addition, the Voice of the Emperor power is now a lesser power, letting you calm hostile targets who don't resist more than merely once a day.
✓ Magic Skills
Their power of persuasion also makes Illusion spells cost 15% less and last 3 times longer. Restoration spells also cost 15% less and heal 50% more.
✓ Higher Education
The superior education of Imperials lets them learn all skills--mage, thief and warrior--faster. They learn Illusion and speech skills 20% faster, and all other skills 5% faster.
✓ The Art of Combat
The education of Imperials is not limited to academic pursuits. It extends to combat, too. Imperials now block an additional 20% more damage with shields. Like the ART! Nord and ART! Orc mods, this mod also gives special combat moves to the Imperial. A message appears in the upper-left corner of the screen every time there is a successful special move. The chance for each move is between 5% and 50% and depends on the One-Handed and Two-Handed skill perks you have (see Perks Required and Percent Chance for Each Combat Move on the Discussions tab). Each move is a lesser power, which may be used more than once a day and lasts 30 seconds each time:
Disarm Move: Every hit has up to a 50% chance to disarm the target. Disarmed targets will either flee, fight with their bare hands, or try to find and pick up their weapons.
Knock Down Attack: Each hit has up to a 50% chance to knock a foe to the ground. Targets can fall back into other targets, knocking them to the ground, as well. If standing on a bridge or near a cliff, they can fall to their deaths. Once they fall down, they will not fight back until they are able to stand up, again.
Lucky Hit: Each hit has up to a 50% chance of being a critical hit, which does double damage. You will also have a greater chance of decapitating targets, if you have the Savage Strike or Devastating Blow perks.
Paralyzing Blow: Each hit has up to a 50% chance of paralyzing the target for a few seconds. Paralyzed targets fall to the ground where they are standing, but don't fall back. This is usefull if you are fighting on a bridge or near a cliff and don't want your target to fall out of reach.
✓ CHEATING DEATH
The luck of the Imperials (or maybe the favor of The Eight Divines?) also saves them from certain death. Once a day, when your health goes below 10%, the Cheat Death ability restores 100% of your health. You don't have to activate any power or cast any spell to cheat death. The ability is always on, so it automatically heals you. You will know the ability has saved you when your health rapidly restores to full and messages appear on the top-left corner of the screen: "You Cheated Death!" and "The Divines Shine on You..." and "Your Health is Fully Restored!"
✓ STARTING STAT BOOSTS FOR NEW CHARACTERS
Beginning stats for new characters are increased as follows. Illusion, Restoration and Heavy Armor: +5. Block, One-Handed and Light Armor: +10. Speech: +15. The total skill bonus is increased from +30 to +60.
FULLY VETTED
The mod was tested, in game with a new Imperial character. Tests verified the abilities and powers were working as expected. Removing the mod was found to be safe, as none of the new abilities and powers were permanent. You may subscribe to try it out. If you decide not to keep it, simply unsubscribe. Your character's abilities and powers will return to what they were before. For a new character, the stat bonuses will remain.
